Moe’s Haven

Today I received a CD from Moe’s Haven (check them out for yourselves at www.moeshaven.com). These are a couple of funny guys with a good sense of humor and some fun music. I especially like I’m So Jealous of Ashton Kutcher (And I Love Liz Phair) and think that song should get some real radio airplay — especially with the rumor circulating right now about Ashton and Demi having a baby.
Moe’s Haven also had a great promotion idea in that they found addresses and started mailing copies of one of their CDs to people. When I pulled the envelope from my PO Box, I first thought it was another marketing ploy by a major company, similar to the friendly greeting card I received recently to invite me to subscribe to People Magazine. A closer look at the writing on the envelope convinced me that whoever had sent this wasn’t using a computer to generate the address; this had actually been written out by hand. My curiousity got the better of me and I opened the envelope, read the inserts and listened to the CD. I’m glad I did.
If you get a chance, you should definitely check out the Moe’s Haven web site and learn more about Matt Farley and Tom Scalzo. These guys are prolific and have quite a bit of music to choose from. You might find something you like.
