A Pound Here and A Pound There

This morning I weighed in at 203.5 - after my morning exercise and breakfast. I’d like to lose about ten pounds before the big 5k that I’m running on September 30 up at Lake Tahoe. If I could lose fifteen to twenty pounds in the next ten weeks, that would be even better. My main goal right now is to be below the 200-lb mark by the time of the race.
My eating pattern hasn’t been too great lately. Saturday, I bought some goodies because we were supposed to have a bunch of young adult males in the house for some games and the guys didn’t show, so I ate and drank things I shouldn’t have; and I paid the consequences yesterday when my digestive system decided that it no longer wants me to eat those kinds of foods. I’m having problems eating a lot of things I used to take for granted and I know I need to really start choosing healthier items. In fact, I was craving a salad of spinach leaves, green onions, mandarin oranges, almond slices, and a little chicken yesterday - but we didn’t have any of those things in the house, unfortunately.
Healthy food is much more expensive than the unhealthy type, so I’ve got to either make do with what we can afford right now or stop eating altogether.
