Medication and Weight
By Administrator | July 31, 2006
Recently, my doctor prescribed a diuretic pill to help try to bring down my blood pressure because it’s still running a little higher than optimal. I didn’t think I was retaining water and was surprised to find myself five pounds lighter after a couple days on this pill. This fact went a long way toward cheering me because I’ve been stuck at the same weight for so long.
The pill turns out only to have been a temporary measure that I stopped after two months and those five pounds came right back after a couple days off the medication. This, of course, was somewhat depressing.
The good news is that I’m now down to 208.5 without the diuretic pill. That’s a little lighter than my long-time plateau of 211. I think the jogging is finally starting to help me lose a little of that weight; now that the muscles in my legs have come back!
I’ll keep plodding on in the hope that I might yet break the 200-lb mark on my way down to a more healthy weight.
