The First One

Today’s dinner is the first that I’m trying in the new diet: jambalaya. I’m hoping the meal doesn’t end up being too spicy because it includes chili powder and red pepper. Spicy foods are good for revving up the metabolism but sometimes don’t go over well with the delicate digestive systems in the house - mine included.
My shopping trip today consisted of getting some ingredients for the two recipes I planned to try out. This time around, I’m going to integrate new things into my lifestyle slowly, so I got most of my normal groceries for the family along with enough to cook the two dinners. Plus, I bought a bag of salad, one of spinach, some tuna and salmon cups, and frozen fruits/berries to go into my morning oatmeal. The cost of the trip was a little higher than normal due to the extra foods, but I know that, in the long run, things will even out if I can get myself healthy enough to stop taking some of my medications.
