Morning Has Broken
By Administrator | January 8, 2007
Today is one of those very long days that began for me at 3:40am. The reason I woke up so early is that I’m serving as transportation for my oldest daughter and she’s being scheduled for very early shifts (last week she had two 2am ones). I’d rather wake up and take a few minutes to drive her than worry that she’s walking the streets in the middle of the night - even though our town is probably safe enough.
Since I’ve already been awake for nearly two hours, I feel somewhat conscious and a little on the draggy side. The good news is that my stomach hasn’t yet awakened and I’ve been able to avoid the kitchen and breakfast so far. Eating too early in the morning will just make the time between now and lunch that much harder since I don’t take my lunch break until 1pm. I really need to be sure I take some healthy munchies to work with me this morning, along with my huge water bottle, and I think my snack of choice will be baby carrots. They’re crunchy, satisfying, and easy to prepare. I may also take a cheese stick for a little calcium and extra energy.
I’m really going to do my best to stay off the scale in the time between my normal weigh-ins and I plan to set my normal weigh-day as Wednesday…for some reason that seems like the best day for me to check the scale. I think it may go back to appointments I once had scheduled with a dietician though I no longer remember for sure.
And now, to start another week. I hope the coming days are easier, craving-wise, than yesterday was.
