A Woman On The Edge

A Quick Post

Unlike the Oscars last night, which came in at about 3 hours and 45 minutes, I just wanted to give a quick overview of what I enjoyed about the show:

The Youth Factor - Abigail Breslin and Jaden Smith were adorable presenters. I think the Oscars needs more kids.

Ellen Degeneres - Her low-key comedy and wardrobe were just right and I congratulate her on a job well-done.

Little Miss Sunshine - won two Oscars. Congratulations!

The classic attire - most of the celebrities wore what might be considered “old Hollywood” style. I really appreciate the return to elegance and sophistication, without some of the over-the-top fashion statements, made by both the men and women. That’s how the Oscar ceremony should look.

The foreign element - I also applaud the diversity of nominated films and actors. This event is broadcast to about 1 billion people and not all of them can be American. We should definitely pay more attention to the global film industry.

And now I have to get to work. Later, I’ll discuss what I didn’t like about last night’s ceremony.
