A Long Time

This weekend I’ve been doing something I haven’t done in a long time - a decent spring cleaning of the house. Lately I’ve done mostly a few minor chores to keep the mess from becoming too bad, but things have become so dirty, dusty, and cluttered that I just couldn’t take the ickiness (if that’s even a word) any more. The funniest part of the whole experience is that I feel like a young newlywed again; back when I was in my twenties I spent a lot more time on housework because I was a stay-at-home mom with a lot more time on my hands. Working full-time not only uses up a good majority of my daylight hours, my current job is also somewhat demanding physically, so I’m pretty wiped out by the time I get home. That means I don’t really feel like doing much of anything in the evenings. I’d really like to get back some of that energy I had when I was younger so I can keep things around the house nicer.
Anyway, I’m writing this post instead of handling a couple other tasks I should deal with today so this is going to have to end here…but I’ll try to remember to post again this week instead of waiting so long.
