Blue Moon

Tonight will be our second full moon this month, a blue moon, though I read that this is a mistaken belief that has come about in modern times. The true meaning of blue moon is supposedly the occurrence of a fourth full moon over the course of a season. According to Wikipedia, the blue moon of folklore has a face that talks to items cast in its light.
Whatever the source or meaning of the blue moon - I greatly enjoy the moon in all its phases. Last night, the moon rose while I was out walking and the glowing light cast by the rising orb brightened the cooling twilight air. I was reminded of my childhood when everything seemed mysterious and magical and men walked on the moon. Things have changed quite a bit since then, but the fact that the rising moon took me back to that place and time indicates magical powers to me.
