A Quick Trip
By Administrator | June 16, 2007
Today promises to be a somewhat-busy Saturday…so I went out for a brief bike ride first thing this morning. As mentioned before, we live on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada foothills and many hills can be found in our local neighborhoods. One of them is just a few blocks over and hubby suggested I take a ride down that hill for fun.
What a rush! The hill is sloped enough that I was able to get up to 21 mph before having to brake for the stop sign. I really enjoyed the quick trip around the neighborhood and we’ve decided I should claim a 2-mile ride for the day (I didn’t clear my bike computer before going out so I don’t know my actual distance).
Today promises to be a hot one already. The aforementioned bike computer registered 73 degrees before 8:00 am. I should have gone a little earlier, but I didn’t want to wake hubby.
This evening, I hope to take a quick walk when things cool down again. I’d like to start a routine of morning ride/evening walk with a couple swims a week and some yoga thrown in for good measure. This morning’s outing was nothing more than another start on that Road to Fifty and my triathlon participation. I hope I have the resolve to stick with my program this time.
