Not So Fun

By Administrator | June 18, 2007

This morning I woke up early for two reasons: 1) too much caffeine last evening and 2) my entire body hurts from my first few days of bike riding.  The first reason is one that I try to avoid for the most part, especially late in the day, but I was cleaning out our old refrigerator because we’re getting a nice new one today (finally, since ours was made in the 1970s and has been in bad shape for awhile).  I won’t be avoiding the biking part of the equation since I really need to get past this painful part and get out for longer rides.  Hubby and I just did a quick 1.4 mile loop this morning at an average speed of 7.2 mph and a maximum of 12.5 mph downhill; that’s a piddling amount for him since he logged more than 1000 miles last year, but I found myself out of breath and hurting on the first uphill so I turned for home before I expected.  The morning air was really nice, though, and I did enjoy being outside since I’ll be cooped up in the office for most of the day.  I look forward to increasingly longer rides and better health in the not-too-distant future - once I get past this early, quite painful, stage of my training.
