Angora Fire Question

By Administrator | June 25, 2007

In response to a question about the Angora Fire, I found that the El Dorado County Sheriff has a report up indicating the addresses of homes that have been damaged by the fire.  The report can be through the Reno Gazette-Journal web site.

If that link doesn’t work, try pasting the following address in your browser: http://www.co.el-dorado.ca.us/sheriff/fire_damage.pdf.

According to recent reports, the fire has now burned 2500 acres and 240 homes have burned; over 1000 residents have been evacuated and 1400 are without power; parts of highways 50, 88, and 89 are closed; and two fire vehicles have reportedly been lost (this information came from the KRNV News 4 web site).  According to CNN, the number of firefighters on the scene has been doubled to 800, and California Lt. Governor John Garamandi has declared a state of emergency (Governor Schwarzenegger is traveling in Europe at the moment).

I hope this may help anyone else who happens on this blog.  My thoughts and best wishes go out to all the firefighters and residents of the Angora Fire zone and other areas affected by fire.
