A Short Break

By Administrator | July 18, 2007

I didn’t exercise the past couples of days due to the fact that I could barely move. I wasn’t sore, just so tired I couldn’t even contemplate getting on the bike. Monday morning I’d planned to take a break and walk, but I managed less than a mile, so I took yesterday off from exercise completely.

This evening, hubby and I rode to the city library: a 1-mile downhill that was really nice. The rest of the ride seemed a bit more difficult because we were traveling mostly uphill and the wind seemed to blow in our faces no matter what direction we traveled. Nevada has the oddest weather sometimes.

My stats for tonight: 3.4 miles at an average speed of 7mph (max speed 14.9) with a total ride time of 29:06; 6.9 miles total miles for this week so far. I’m hoping I have enough energy the rest of this week to get in at least 20 miles total since I managed to break the 25-mile mark last week.

One thing I learned from this evening’s ride is that I will be able to bike to our community pool to swim. The trick will be biking that mile home again, uphill, after having spent time in the water. My muscles always feel like limp noodles after swimming so biking while I feel that way should be pretty interesting. Still, I need to work on both types of exercise, as well as jogging, in order to compete in a triathlon.

I’ve still got a long way to go…
