A Woman On The Edge

Good One

By Administrator | July 23, 2007

Hubby and I have just returned from our weekend trip to the Bay Area and I must say that we had a great time.  Saturday evening, we had dinner with fun relatives and then took a stroll along a pier before hubby and I returned to our room to rest since I’d gone to the Harry Potter midnight book release that morning and was pretty tired.  I managed to read a majority of the final book during the drive back and forth from our home to Berkeley (I finished reading about an hour or so after getting home this afternoon).
Sunday morning we took a bike ride from Berkeley to a marina in Emeryville; the ride stats: 10.5 miles at an average speed of 7.7 mph and a total ride time of 1:20:39.  This was my longest ride to date and took me up to a total mileage of 71.2 miles for the month of July.  The lower altitude made riding somewhat easier, though hubby and I were both drenched from the humidity, and I have to say that I really enjoyed myself.  I’m looking forward to future rides in areas other than my home turf because it’s such a fun way to see the sights.

After our Sunday morning ride, we went to an Oakland A’s game at the Coliseum (they lost to the Baltimore Orioles 2-0).  The game was also great fun and our seats directly behind the visitor’s dugout made for a terrific view of the proceedings.  Baseball and biking are an excellent way to spend a Sunday…and the weekend was, all in all, a good one.
