A Woman On The Edge

Another Saturday Night

By Administrator | September 8, 2007

Only this one follows a busier-than-normal day for me. I’ve already mentioned my bike ride and plans for earlier today, but I also spent the afternoon visiting the library, a bookstore, and getting a few groceries. Then, this evening, I decided to go out and do a practice walk of my tour route (I participate in the Kit Carson Trail Ghost Walk each October) and I took some photos of the houses we’ll be discussing this year. The walk took me a total of 2.19 miles since I went out of my way to walk by the Governor’s Mansion where they’re having an event called the Tin Cup Tea (a fundraiser for the Nevada State Museum in Carson City and the W.M. Keck Museum at the University of Nevada, Reno); the streets are crowded with cars, a horse-drawn wagon was taking guests around the block, and cowboy music is filling the air. Our neighbors at the Mansion tend to be somewhat noisy on occasion.

Needless to say, I’m a bit tired right now, but in a good way. I like accomplishing things on the weekend because I quite often have at least one day a week where I can’t really do much of anything. Today was not one of those days.I only hope tomorrow turns out to be as productive…

Just as a point of reference, my weigh-in at the Great American Weight Loss Challenge this morning was 208.8 pounds (205 on the scale at home).  We’ll do one more official weigh-in before the end celebration, but I’m pretty much on my own, which is why I re-weighed myself.  I’ll do a weigh-in each Saturday morning over these eight weeks to see if I’m making any progress in that area - though I won’t really be too focused on that because I’m also hoping to build up some muscle with my workouts.
