Hazy Shade of Winter
By Administrator | January 10, 2008
The skies have been the harsh iron gray caused by heavy clouds for about a week now. I normally think overcast skies would be nice because we get quite a few days of brilliant sunshine here in Nevada, but I think I’ve had enough gloom for the moment. We haven’t had any rain or snow for about a day or so and the white stuff on the ground is rapidly melting away so I’m ready for the sunshine to return.
The good news is that the days are growing longer as we head toward our second month of winter. I much prefer leaving work to find at least a little daylight left outside or else I feel like my entire day has been spent indoors working. Of course, winter sunsets here in Cartoon City come early because we’re so close to the east slope of the Sierra Nevada. Night didn’t fall quite so quickly or abruptly when I lived in the central valley of California.
The week is drawing to a close and I’d like to get out a little more this weekend. Here’s hoping for nice dry weather and at least a little sunshine.
