North and South

Knott's Berry Farm

This past holiday weekend, two of my daughters, one future son-in-law, and I traveled down to Southern California to visit Knott’s Berry Farm…and I had the best time I’ve had in a long while. I’m not saying that I don’t have a good life and pretty much enjoy myself on a daily basis, but this was something I haven’t done in a very long time and I’d forgotten how much I enjoy getting away and visiting somewhere different. The best part of the whole trip was learning that I’m really not too old to ride some really awesome roller coasters (though I did avoid the craziest of the extreme ones), along with all the fun I had with my loved ones. Even the long car ride was enjoyable because we had some interesting and, eventually really goofy, discussions and even sang along to some music for awhile. All in all, this was a great weekend.

I’m very happy to be home with the two loved ones who had to stay behind (and who were greatly missed) and I’m now recharged and ready to head off to another week of work. Even the threat of impending snow isn’t bothering me quite as much since I’m feeling so much more relaxed.

If you’re tired and feel as though you’ve been stuck in a rut, I highly recommend getting away for a day or so - even if you can only go a short distance due to financial considerations. The benefits are definitely worth the cost.

Glad you’re back. It was quiet without your gentle nagging.
