A Woman On The Edge

My Two Cents

This is a presidential election year and I’m keeping tabs on the political process despite the fact that I just feel like ignoring the whole thing. The process started for us here in Cartoon City about a year ago when we were treated to an advance showing of what has become a three-ring circus: McClain, Clinton, and Obama. Don’t get me wrong - I’m thrilled to have Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama in the running and I believe either of them would be a good choice. I’d love to see Hilary win because she does have an insiders’ view of the White House from her days as the First Lady and she’s also got political background in her own right as the Senator from New York. Most of all, as a woman, I’d love to have someone of the female persuasion hopefully tempering the testosterone that normally runs this country. Barack Obama, on the other hand, doesn’t have the same experience going for him; however, we might do well with someone who hasn’t yet forgotten what being a “real” person is like. As for McCain - he was my choice at our local joke of a Republican caucus, but only as the lesser evil (I don’t agree with most of his platforms) and I really don’t want to see him as the head of our country.

We’ll see how things work out in the coming months, but I’m afraid the circus will continue with the main act being the knife tossing between Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Why can’t we all just get along?
