Weekend’s End

Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe

One of the joys of living in Northern Nevada is that we such a beautiful variety of scenery to enjoy. The photo above was taken at Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe, just a half-hour from our home base. A gorgeous location within a reasonable driving distance - even with current gas prices. The only problem is that “real life” doesn’t always allow the time or energy for us to go and enjoy our own backyard.

This past week, hubby and I took off work and went to spend a couple days at Lake Tahoe. We had good weather and spent one day of our trip taking the 72-mile drive around the Lake to enjoy the scenery. This was especially fun since the season is still early and we went mid-week so we didn’t have to deal with a lot of tourists.

Our quiet week ended too soon and we’re both going back to work tomorrow. I’m feeling rested and much better than I did before the time off, plus I have a great job that I really like, but I was enjoying my too-brief taste of leisure and would like to have had a longer vacation.
