A note to readers of Long Bright River
Over the past decade, I’ve spent a lot of time in Kensington, the Philadelphia neighborhood in which Long Bright River is set. I’ve also had the privilege of learning about and sometimes directly working with local organizations that serve communities touched by some of the themes included in the novel, such as addiction, homelessness, domestic violence, and underserved public schools.
